Robust Sonde 18mm 33kHz (PL18-33R) is a effective pipe transmitter sonde. The PL18-33R is a small-sized sonde with a stainless steel head, designed for use with the Vesala CL43 mini cable locator as well as other cable locators operating at a frequency of 33 kHz. The tip of the sonde is reinforced.
The sondes function as an effective accessory for the Vesala CL43 mini cable locator and for 33 kHz cable locators from other manufacturers, such as 3M Dynatel®, Radiodetection CAT®, and C-Scope®.
The sonde is attached to a push rod either by screwing it onto the rod’s M12 or M6 external thread, an M10 internal thread, or by taping it to the side of the rod. After this, the sonde is pushed into the pipe, duct, sewer, or similar structure to be inspected. If the sonde encounters, for example, a blockage, its location and depth can be determined from the ground surface using the locator receiver. Accurately locating the fault makes repair work easier and reduces unnecessary excavation.
Use of the Pipe Transmitter
The Sondi 18mm 33kHz (PL18-33R) is activated when the battery compartment is screwed onto the transmitter section with the battery installed. The sonde is attached to a push rod either by screwing it onto the threaded push/pull rod or by taping it to the side of the rod, after which the device is inserted into the target using the push rod.
The sonde has M12F, M10M, and M6F threads. The route of the piping is tracked with the cable locator while the PL18-33R advances through the target. This ensures that the signal is not lost, for example in bends. If the sonde encounters a blockage, its location and depth can be determined accurately. This facilitates repair work and reduces unnecessary digging.
At the end of the PL18-33R there is a red indicator light showing that the device is powered on. The indicator light turns off when the battery is weak.
The diameter of the PL18-33R is 18.2 mm, and its length with the standard battery compartment is 85 mm. The transmission frequency is 32.768 kHz (continuous signal).
