Sondes are transmitters with a specific frequency and they can be located with our sonde locators or cable locators. Sondes generate a magnetic field around themselves, which makes it possible to locate the sonde along a plastic or metallic tube underground. Sondes are often used together with a push rod, which is used to deliver the sonde to the blockage point of the route.
A separate locator device can then be used from the ground surface to pinpoint the location that needs repair. Locators for detecting sondes can be found in their own section.
