Radiodetection MRXG Cable and Marker Locator

The new MRXG locator from Radiodetection is designed not only for locating cables and wires but also for detecting marker balls. Compared to its sister product, the MRX, this model supports Current Direction (CD) signaling, enabling precise cable identification.

The MRXG locator includes a GPS receiver and a new Bluetooth connection, enabling data transfer to mapping applications and remote control of the TX10B transmitter. Remote operation works up to 450 m, and the TX10B features a SideStep function to slightly shift the frequency (e.g., from 33 kHz), ideal for environments where multiple transmitters are active simultaneously.

Different frequencies can be used during cable locating to ensure reliable results even in electrically noisy areas. The device is compatible with RD’s TX series signal generators, available in 5W and 10W versions, and supports the most common sonde frequencies, e.g., 512 Hz and 33 kHz.

The RD Manager PC software provides a suite of useful tools, including updating the locator to the latest firmware version.
