Cable Tracer Receiver C.A.T4+, Metric

The C.A.T4+ Metric Cable Locator is an easy-to-use basic locator for detecting cables and 33kHz sondes. The C.A.T4 locator can find underground objects such as live or dead cables, and with the use of sondes, it can also locate channels and pipes.

In Generator mode and when using the Genny4 transmitter, the depth of the detected cable can be measured. The detachable speaker can be brought closer to the user in noisy locating conditions.

The C.A.T4+ is ideal for applications such as civil engineering companies, electrical installation companies, power plants, as well as water and sewage utilities.

The C.A.T4+ Metric Cable Locator has four basic functions:

• “Power” mode detects passive 50Hz signals from live network cables.

• “Radio” mode finds long-wave passive radio signals induced into dead cables.

• “Generator” mode measures the depth of the cable or sonde. The C.A.T4 detects the active locating signal (33kHz) from a signal generator or sonde. In this mode, a single cable can be identified and traced.

• “Avoidance” mode is a combined search mode that uses all three detection functions simultaneously. This mode aims to find all underground cables, including telephone, telecom, and electrical cables, regardless of whether they carry active or passive signals.

The user-friendly display provides the following information:

• Current mode in use

• Signal strength bar

• Depth display, depending on the mode

The device is designed to be used even with protective gloves.
